Computer Music Club

The Computer Music Club (CMC) exists to offer students additional exposure in areas related to using computers to produce audio content.  These areas include; hardware, software as well as techniques used to create, manipulate and process audio using a computer.

Objectives:

•  Education and training on software applications related to audio production through demonstrations, workshops and tutorials

•  Use of industry veterans/manufacturers to share knowledge of relevant subject matter

•  Add insight into industry-relevant processes currently being used in the field

•  Showcase student work to other students and industry professionals

•  Allow students to share techniques used in creation process

•  Encourage networking between students and industry professionals

•  To prepare students for the audio industry

Activities of the CMC:

The CMC will organize and schedule monthly events by its student members. These events will feature relevant industry topics that have been selected by the student members.

There will be special guest lecturers scheduled three times a year.

The monthly events may occasionally be held as Field Trips to industry sites such as recording studios and other performance venues that utilize computer-based production technology.

The monthly events will be offered to any interested individuals who are currently enrolled or employed by the New England Institute of Art.
